CHA Wrap-up, Favorites – Cricut /Provo Craft, Spellbinders, Crafters Companion, Ranger and more–PART 2 (MARKERS: Spectrum Noir Markers by Crafters Companion, and Tim Holtz Distress Markers by Ranger)

This blog post will be about new and exciting markers that were shown at CHA Winter 2012. First, let’s just concede the fact that Tim Holtz is a genius and once again, he’s done something phenomenal with these new Distress Markers from Ranger.  And like all Ranger products, I am of course ordering these for my customers and like everything I get for you, my prices are great!  The Retail/MSRP is $114.99 for the full set of Distress Markers, but my price is only $86.25!  To place an order, please email me at gcporders@yahoo.com   and PLEASE put the word: “ORDER ” in your email subject line!!  There are 37 colors being released, which match up to the 36 current colors of Distress Inks, plus the white Picket Fence color.  They do come individually, but I think most of us are grabbing them in the full set of 37 (and the price is much better when you order the full set!!).  What I was really impressed with for these markers, was the ability to not only s...

CHA Winter 2012 - Day 1

Well, I'm off to try to catch some much needed rest after Day 1 at CHA.  I had some great classes today.  I took the class from Crafter's Companion to learn all about their new Spectrum Noir alcohol based markers and it was a HUGE surprise.  I am sooooo in love with these markers!!  I've never had this kind of control using my other alcohol markers.  The ease of blending was absolutely unbelievable and shocking--you could constantly see the surprise and delight on the faces of all the students as we progressed along so quickly. I can't wait to work with them further!!  They are now going to be my "go-to" alcohol based markers and I am placing orders for them as soon as the convention floor opens in the morning!! My afternoon class was with the fabulously talented and always darling Teresa Collins for her Teresa Collins StampMaker.  Needless to say, as always, Teresa was spot-on with giving us the information we needed along with several tips to help ...

Making EnveloBoxes (3-D Envelopes) with Your Ultimate Crafter's Companion (UCC). Don't forget to use Glenda's "Rock & Roll" Technique!!

Hi all!! Wowee, this has really been a hectic week, so I'm a bit behind in my posting here--sorry! But the good news is that I have a TWO-PART Video Tutorial for you (which I finally managed to get edited--yeah!!!) that shows one of my personal, very favorite features & techniques using the UCC (Ultimate Crafter's Companion), which is the EnveloBox (3-D Envelopes). These are the great 3-D envelopes that actually allow you to have enough room within them to enclose your beautiful, multi-layered cards without having the dreaded "envelope squish factor" !! (EEEEKKKKK---noooo, anything but that!!!) In other words, your beautiful cards will have plenty of wiggle room inside these amazing EnveloBoxes, so all that work you put into them, all those Cricut images or Cuttlebug die cuts or embossed pieces, Nestabilities, your Primas (or other flowers!!), ribbons, Skittles and all that other great stuff you love to put on your cards will still be intact AND still be dimen...

Almost Time for Blog FOLLOWER Give-Away!! Plus,Hurry to Order UCC & RAB to Beat Price Increase!

Ohhhh, I'm so excited!!! It's getting close to the end of the month, which means that all my Blog Followers (who were signed up as my Blog Followers in the month of April or before) will be automatically entered in my monthly Blog Follower contest Give-Away!!! I just LOVE give-aways, don't you?? For those of you who might not be familiar, starting in April, I'm holding a monthly give-away among just my Blog Followers. They don't have to do a darn thing except be signed up as a Follower, in which case, they are automatically entered each & every month. Pretty cool, huh?? And you just never ever know what the prizes might be--one month could be a really big give-away, another month might be a bit more low key, but, just know that there will ALWAYS be a give-away!!! And in this economy, every little bit helps, right??? Sooooo, if you're NOT signed up as a Blog Follower of mine, hurry up & do so!!!! To sign up, scroll down the right side of my blog until yo...

Blog Candy Give-Away is coming--I SWEAR!!!! And now there will be TWO WINNERS, instead of just one!!

Hi All!! First, right off the bat, let me profusely apologize for being late with my Blog Candy Give-Away (which from now on, will be abbreviated to: BCGA) & I want to say that it is TOTALLY my own fault!!! It's due to the fact that I really thought I remembered much more about Excel spreadsheets (especially the part that involves formulas!!! EEEKKKK!!!) than it turned out that I actually did!!! After not having to use Excel for about eleven years, I guess I hadn't quite retained the knowledge I thought I would have. Let me explain: As you were all voting for my BCGA & many were signing up to be Followers in order to get the multiple votes (thank you soooo much!!!), I was trying to keep up by entering every one's info into an Excel spreadsheet. The reason I was using a spreadsheet is because I wanted Excel to do all the math for me (especially after it turned out there were so many more entries than I'd ever dared to hope for, which is a complete JOY to me!!!). ...

BLOG CANDY Give-Away--made easier!! Plus, if you're a "FOLLOWER" of my blog- new & exciting info in this thread (hint: your votes=more entries!)

(This blog thread is to summarize and hopefully, make it easier for all of you to enter here to win my BLOG CANDY Give-Away.) Ohhhh, thank GOODNESS--now, finally: BACK TO CRAFTING!!! I've been soooo busy with all the orders for the Crafter's Companion products ( thank you!!! ) over the past week, I haven't been able to craft ANYTHING worthwhile. But I've been musing & thinking about what type of tutorials/projects I wanted to start with here on my blog (BESIDES the obvious, which are the Ultimate Crafter's Companion and the Rock-A-Blocks!!!), & of course, because I am the original "Gadget Queen" , who loves ALL gadgets & tools, most the things that popped into my mind were about different crafting "tools". Several of the ones ones that came to mind were those I think many of us bought with great enthusiasm when they were first released, but now, may not be getting as much use as they could be, or they may actually be gathering dust!!...

More CHA Videos, plus more

Hi all!!! Hoping all of you had a lovely Valentine's Day weekend!! I thought I'd come in here & add some more CHA videos I finally got uploaded. Plus, I went into my last post from Feb 13th to edit it in order to add one more video I'd done the day B-4 from the Crafter's Companion folks. In that video, a couple of my other Cricut Message Boards friends (Nilda & TerriKrafts) were introduced to these products & one of the greatest advertisements for the Rock-A-Block product occurred out of a simple stamper's mishap (oh yaaaaa, we've ALL had THAT happen!!)!! BUT , what should have ended in disaster ends instead in a perfectly stamped image. Go & see what I'm talking about in my last post !!! (Where you can also find all the details about how to order these products!!!) So what I'm uploading today are: 1) A video tour of the amazing Basic Grey booth (which was requested by Okie, who is yet another Cricut Message Board member & friend)-...
